About the Event

Suffolk Growth Partnership will be running a series of Strategic Development workshops and Innovation & Best Practice "twilight" workshops through 2021.

Suffolk has an incredible natural landscape and array of assets that create a superb visitor environment and setting for “outdoor” experiences, events and attractions. Our first "twilight" innovation and best practice workshop explores the potential to develop the great outdoor visitor experience in Suffolk, with a focus on cycling, walking and water-based activity experiences.

To support our workshop, guest speaker Martin Chester, lead researcher for the Outdoor Industries Association’s Getting Active Outdoors project,  brings extensive experience of the design and review of numerous outdoor interventions (for the likes of Forestry England, National Trust, and a host of National Governing Bodies), to this event; as well as an understanding of grass-roots delivery issues.

Our workshops are available to key stakeholders and practitioners working in the visitor economy, across public, private and community sectors. Our aim is to bring together individuals from the broad range of areas that contribute to our sector from travel, hospitality, retail and leisure, to culture, heritage and countryside to support sharing best practice, innovation, and development.

We also want to connect our visitor economy with the key strategic development areas that will support and enable sustainable growth of the sector, including areas of skills, transport, planning, environment and economic development.

Once you have registered for the event, you will a calendar invitation from Suffolk Growth Partnership and be added to our sign-up list. We will then send each registered attendee the agenda pack and any pre-reading materials a week in advance of the workshop.

We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
