SGPB Procurement Leads Group

The SGPB Procurement Leads Group has membership from all Public Sector organisations, including: All 6 Local Authorities in Suffolk, NHS, CCG, Police and FE/HE. 


The Procurement Leads group set bi-monthly objectives in January 2019 until December 2019. These objectives are:

  1. March 2019 - focusing on Social Value, including approaches & case studies. Agreed to hold a Suffolk wide social value workshop that took place on 2nd July 2019.

  2. May 2019 -  Supplier / business training going forward & development of "Get Fit to Bid" Diagnostic Tool (with SCoC)

  3. July 2019 - 2018/19 spend analysis 

  4. September 2019 - Category analysis / Joint approaches to procurement through a category strategy approach

  5. November 2019 - Low value tenders / contracts & fraud in Procurement 

During 2020 the group are focusing on sharing best practice and meeting on a regular basis to discuss current issues of concern.

2019 spend report 

A report on work carried out by the Suffolk procurement leads group has been produced, including the spend analysis from 2017 & 2018.

Social Value Workshop 

On 2 July 2019 a Social Value workshop was held at West Suffolk College, with 38 attendees from across public sector. Guest speakers included: The Social Value portal, Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport and the VCS sector.
