Raising the Ambition for the Visitor Economy: Skills, Training & Career Pathways

VENI Update
The Visitor Experience Experts Breakfast Club launches on 2nd March 2022 at Edmunds restaurant, West Suffolk College, specifically to network hospitality and visitor economy HR business leads. The VENI team want to hear what support can be given to help with recruitment and retention of staff and update on VENI projects launching in 2022.

The Visitor Economy will be represented through the VENI partnership, colleges and sector businesses, at the Norfolk and Suffolk Careers Festival 2022 on Wednesday 9 March, with an expected 2,000 students from Suffolk schools attending. The VENI stand will include a cookery theatre to help the exploration of opportunities for future chefs.

Pathways 50+ : Futures for Business in partnership with Norfolk County Council and Suffolk County Council, will shortly be launching an employment programme supporting people in Norfolk and Suffolk aged 50 and over – Pathways 50+. People living in Norfolk or Suffolk, aged 50+ and returning to work will be provided with a paid work placement with a local employer. Pathways 50+ will focus on SMEs that are able to grow and create jobs in the current economic climate and the visitor economy is expected to become a leading sector adopting the scheme. SMEs will receive a grant of £1,950, funded by the European Social Fund to support the paid placements.

Free Taking England to the World Training is a one-day training programme designed to help your business reach new customers and grow your revenue. Created and delivered by industry experts, Taking England to the World provides information on insights and research, marketing, product development, distribution, and partnerships to create a fully rounded training offering.

The East Suffolk Digital Business Festival focussing on “all things digital” is up and running through to Friday 18 February 2022. The programme is very relevant to the local visitor economy, with digital tech demos, business support and advice, information on local digital projects and a wide range of workshops, webinars and learning seminars.
