Suffolk Growth, supported by Suffolk County Council, gave the keynote presentation at a recent EELGA Roundtable on Building a skills legacy for the East of England.
The event was one in a series of EELGA Roundtables, focused on a key theme, with a guest presentation followed by the opportunity for attendees to share their own examples of best practice, opportunities and challenges.
The presentation focused on our recent work to assess the technical skills legacy for Suffolk & Norfolk, presenting the significant opportunities to secure and train a local workforce to deliver the significant pipeline of infrastructure and construction projects proposed for this region between now and 2037.
The Roundtable discussion was focused on the opportunities that these large projects open up for meaningful skills development in our region, and address what challenges exist in coordinating and maximising these advantages.
