You are invited to join us on Monday 26 February 11:00-12:00 – for a free webinar – Welcoming car-free visitors to your attraction.
Open to attractions that have already joined the FREE Suffolk – Good Journey County initiative, as well as those still deciding. You’re welcome to invite other colleagues to join you.
Why join us?
22% of UK households don’t have a car. A huge chunk of every attraction’s carbon emissions come from visitors’ car travel to get there – typically over 60% when including scope 3 emissions.
Discover why it can make great business sense to actively welcome car-free visitors. Get tips on easy things you can do to make them welcome. Hear about attractions that have set up shuttle buses and cycle paths. Find out how Blenheim Palace gained 25,000 car-free visitors in just two years. Plus get other great ideas from attractions across the UK.
What is Suffolk – Good Journey County?
Suffolk will become a ‘Good Journey County’ – launching in March 2024 for two years – to promote car-free days out and holidays in 2024/2025. The initiative will open up access to Suffolk’s leisure, culture and nature attractions for more people.
Working with Good Journey – Suffolk Growth, Suffolk County Council and local tourism partners are teaming up with 20 attractions across Suffolk to offer discounts, better travel information and a warm welcome to car-free visitors.
Attractions joining will gain FREE Good Journey Membership until spring 2026, with support and publicity to attract more car-free visitors. This includes a free journey planning page on Good Journey like Gainsborough’s House, plus gaining the Good Journey Mark.
