Since launching in May, the Accessible Destination Suffolk project has attracted over 90 businesses and venues across the visitor economy to take up the offer to develop and promote detailed Access Guides for their facilities.
The project, in partnership with Suffolk’s local authorities and AccessAble, was introduced in response to findings from Suffolk Growth’s review of accessibility and inclusion across Suffolk’s visitor economy. Read more about the review here.
The exciting new partnership led by Suffolk Growth supports visitor attractions, accommodation, retail and hospitality businesses across the county to work with AccessAble, to survey and develop individual business access guides and promote them via the Access Able website and App.
The Guides look at ‘access’ and ‘disability’ from lots of different perspectives – mobility impairment, learning disability, sensory impairment, dementia, and mental health. The support is funded by Suffolk Growth through the VENI programme.
